We need a Longer Cable. Is it even Available ?

The MXO2 is a great product, but it is lacking a longer cable to make it really convenient.

I'm sure this issue must have been addressed before, but since no Matrox Newsletter has been sent about this subject, I'm re-addressing the forum about it.

Hi A.

The cable that connects the unit to the host is just a standard 1 meter PCIe x1 cable which you can pick up from many computer parts outlets and/or easily pick up online. Although longer cables are available you should bear in mind that the maximum officially supported cable length for the MXO2 is 3 meters, beyond which you may have trouble with the signal integrity.

If you really need longer cable runs then you might try PCIe over fibre, but I've not heard of anyone using such a solution with the MXO2 so there's no specific record (to my knowledge) of success or failure with such a solution:
