MXO2 Mini with VCR / Component or HDMI

Hi, I have a VCR / DVD combo unit. It has composite, component, and HDMI output.

I can get my MXO2 mini to capture with composite. But cannot get component or HDMI inputs to work for capture. I've applied the Capture Invalid 64 bit Os and 32 bit registry settings mentioned elsewhere, but still have the problem.

Capture settings:
Component / NTSC / Consumer - quality source = Disconnected
Component / 1080i / Consumer - quality source = "OK" but black screen
HDMI / 1080i / Consumer - quality source = "OK" but blue screen

With the HDMI, I know the VCR is also outputting 1080i.

This is with Windows 8.1 Pro / Matrox AV Tools 8.0.0.15342. Almost the exact same results with Windows 10 and same version Matrox.

To update this I've installed Windows 7 w SP1 / Matrox mtxutils_772 and still have the same issue.

This behavior is usually indicative of copy protected signals-HDCP, especially when blue screen is seen.
