Hi,
I've been using my Mini with Max with Adobe CS5. If I install CS6 but opt to retain CS5, is there a way I can have the Mini work with both? Thanks.

You will need to use a dual boot of Windows with CS5 on one partition and CS6 on the other.

I can't think of a good reason to have CS5 and CS6 installed at the same time. CS5 projects will certainly open right up in CS6, and CS6 will be much more stable with Matrox than CS5 was, very solid drivers. Many Adobe issues also resolved with CS6.

Thanks

Thanks Alan and Jeff for your input and suggestions.

The Matrox MXO2 will not work with multiple Adobe versions. We recommend having single Adobe suite installed and then install Matrox hardware and software.

You can use a dual boot as mentioned by Alan for Adobe CS5 and one for Adobe CS6. Please note for each Matrox software driver (one for CS5 and one for CS6) will require a firmware change.

Hope this information is helpful.

Thanks for your help! No dual boots for me. I'll uninstall CS5 and the associated Matrox software before installing CS6 and new Matrox software.

If you plan on running Adobe CS6, please make sure to remove all previous versions of Adobe software, ie CS5, with Adobe cleaner tool. then perform a fresh install of adobe CS6+updates. Premiere should be latest 6.0.5 version with Mtx.utils 7.5.1.1966 drivers.

Once the Adobe updates and Matrox hardware/software is properly installed, you must go in Edit > Preferences > Playback under Video Device list you should see Matrox Player. Please make sure that is checked. Please note, Matrox will not show up in Default player drop list. As long you have Matrox checked under Video Device and selected for Audio Device you should be fine.
This is described on pages 55 and 56 of the User Guide: http://www.matrox.com/video/media/pdf/support/windows/mxo2/doc/en_Matrox_MXO2_Installation_and_User_Guide_7_5_1.pdf

When installing the MXO2 drivers, did you make sure to follow the steps below:
- uninstall the current MXO2 drivers
- download and right-click the Mtx.utils exe file and select Properties. Under the General tab, click unblock (at the bottom) if it is seen.
- Make sure the UAC option is turned off (set to Never Notify in Windows 7 settings) before running the MXO2 setup * may need to reboot
To disable UAC option or set it to Never Notify in Windows 7, please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975787
- Run Mtx.utils setup and then make sure a full reboot and power cycle is performed (after install is complete, shutdown PC, disconnect MXO2 power for several seconds, reconnect power of MXO2 and then power up the PC)
- re-enable UAC option if needed

I won't be installing CS6 until I finish a couple of projects currently using CS5. When I do, I'll follow your instructions to the letter. If I run into any problems, I'll let you know. Thanks!
