Is there any way to get the MXO to display 25p properly in standard def?

I'm working with 16:9 25p footage from a PAL SD Sony XDCAM.

Even though the project settings and sequence settings are set to progressive scan, and the footage is also 25p progressive scan, the MXO still seems to want to display everything in an interlaced stream, and so I end up with line flicker and jaggies in places that should really be smooth if the full resolution was being properly displayed.

Any ideas?

Hi Simon,

Sorry for the late reply.

What you can try is to create an MXO Project Preset you would be able to use the workflow you are after. On page 34 of the Manual 2.0, there are steps for you to follow in order to create presets for workflows not found in the release.

If you upscale or downscale your footage in FCP the MXO will output it, but you may experience drop frames or stutter in the video.

If that does not work, you could post it int he Product Feature Enhancement, so that a MXO preset be inputed in a future release.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Bruno
