Hi Julian and thanks for your continued support and interest in Matrox products. Please note that your client monitor needs to be connected directly to the MXO2 Mini you have.

As far as the MXO2Dock goes, it's a great accessory to have, especially because you are using your MXO2 Mini on your MBP (Thunderbolt). So what you'll gain with the MXO2 Dock is:

- Thunderbolt connectivity. Your MXO2 Mini will be connected to the MXO2 Dock, which will connect to your MBP via TB.
- Two USB ports, so you can connect a full-size keyboard and mouse, storage, optical drive, control surface, flash drive, and other peripherals.
- HDMI output. So you can connect your HDMI monitor to complement your laptop display.
- A Gigabit Ethernet port. Matrox MXO2 Dock adds gigabit Ethernet access to laptops that do not have a built-in gigabit Ethernet port. Transfer data 18 times faster than WiFi and offload traffic from your WiFi network.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions...

Best regards,

For the last 4 years I've been using a MX02 Mini with my Mac Pro (2010). As the Mac Pro has just died, I'm looking at alternatives - probably an iMac in time, but right now my MacBook Pro.

What I'm trying to do is as follows:

1. Client monitor output (24" 1920 x 1080). Do I need MX02 Dock of the Thunderbolt adapter please?

2. Connect dual monitors (both 21") to provide more eduiting real estate. Which I could do via the DisplayPort and HDMI

Your guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much
