I have just installed PPro cs5.0; full installation, no upgrade. Following that installation, I installed Matrox rt.x2 v5.1.2. When I try to capture from my Panasonic AG-DV1000 deck, I get no audio and only 4, thin diagonal lines on my monitor. The dv remote control does control the deck through PPro, however, so I guess there is some communication between the program and my deck. I am connected via DV-1394, which has worked in the past. When I check the capture settings for rt.x2, there is no option for DV-1394, only composite, component, and s-video. I get these same results when I try to connect to my Canon XL2 deck.

I'm not proficient at this, so, hopefully, I'm just overlooking something. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

With Adobe CS5, the Matrox AVI format is no longer available for capturing DV or HDV material natively over the 1394 interface. Instead, you can use the native Adobe Premiere Pro DV or HDV capture format. To export your sequence to a DV-1394 device other than DVCPRO HD, you must copy or import your Matrox sequence into a native Adobe Premiere Pro sequence.

Please use the Adobe DV native sequence to capture via 1394. Also, make sure your Adobe applications are all updated; Premiere version should be updated to 5.0.3 before installing Matrox software.

See our Release Notes for more information: http://www.matrox.com/video/media/pdf/support/rtx2/doc/en_Matrox_RT.X2_Release_Notes_5_0.pdf

Hope this information helps.

Thank you. I'm still having problems. I did update to PPro cs5.0.3 and reinstalled matrox tools. I'll keep trying.

Do you have Mercury Software only or GPU acceleration setting applied in Project Setting of Premiere? Try setting to Mercury only when capturing DV.

Have you tried uninstalling RT.X2 drivers and trying to capture in Adobe native mode? Do you experience the same issue?
