|
|
I constructed a complex project in CS5 with RTX2 and it was fine. I have exported the project and all the files into CS5.5 on a different machine.
I downloaded the VFW software codec becuse the files would not play in Windows Media Player and all the information is there.
When I look at the project in CS5.5 the labels on the clips do not appear to match the contents. Some clips play OK others will not play at all and the project is a mess. Advice welcome! |

Hi,
To confirm, on your CS5 system with RT.X2, you have Premiere 5.0.3 and RT.X2 5.1.2 drivers?
What version of VFW codecs do you have installed with Adobe CS5.5?
Are you running Premiere 5.5.2 update?
What are the files/codecs which do not play within Adobe?
Are all the files Matrox captured AVI clips?
What do you mean by labels? Timecode, metadata information?
Please let us know your results. _________________ Regards,

Many thanks for your interest in my problem.
The project was created in CS5.0.3 with RTX2 and was fine.
The system I imported to is CS.5.5.2 updated. Windows 7 Ultimate + SP1
The VFW codec I downloaded from the Matrox site is 1.0.0.33 on the assumption that the latest one was the most relevant. When I did this the files which up until that point in this system would not play in WMP then played correctly.
The files that do not play are .avi and they are all HDV clips captured into Matrox sequences.
What I mean about the timeline is that a person appears in 1 clip but her image seems to appear over many others of different people/scenes all of which do not play! Some clips just show as seriously-bright pink!
I will send you pictures if you tell me how I can do it.
I have tried importing the whole project and also individual sequences and there appears to be no difference.
As this is an important short project as far as I am concerned I am really keen to resolve the problem as I suspect it will apply to other longer projects made in the same way. |

Is your Adobe CS5.5 version, fully-licensed or trial?
In what Adobe and RT.X2 version were the Matrox HDV AVI clips captured?
Are the bright pink clips also HDV? If so, what is the resolution (frame rate/Frame Size) of the clip?
Can you export the HDV clips from original project to Mpeg2 HD Iframe and see if this works? _________________ Regards,
Sam

The CS5.5 is a paid item and validated.
Clips captured in CS5 updated and Matrox 5.1.2.18
The pink clips are HDV 1440x1080i
I can export the HDV clips from original project to Mpeg2 HD Iframe. However when playing the file all I get is the same stationary picture but the audio is OK! This is pretty much what happens in CS5.5. |

What is the frame size you are setting for the Mpeg2 HD Iframe exports? 1440x1080 or 1920x1080?
Are you exporting with or without alpha for Mpeg2 exports?
Would it be possible to send us the source HDV and export Mpeg2 HD iframe clip which causes issues on your Adobe CS5.5 system? Please check your PM inbox for ftp upload information and instructions. _________________ Regards,

The frame size for the Mpeg2 HD Iframe exports is 1440x1080 with alpha
It would it be possible to send youthe source HDV and export Mpeg2 if I was clear exactly what you want. The souce HDV is a whole series of clips on different tapes. The mpeg2 file is a Gigabyte and I assume you don't want all that. Please advise.
The basic problem is that the clip images in the timeline bear no relation to what the clip is about and each clip in the timeline only plays as a static image. Can I send you a .png file to show you what I mean?

Have you tried exporting without alpha as a test? Do you get the same issue?
You can send a single Mpeg2 HD exported and a single captured HDV clip to our ftp site. Make sure these specific clips reproduce the issue. You can also post your png in the ftp folder you create for upload. Please follow the steps in the private message sent to you. _________________ Regards,

| I have sent you what I can. As you see the mpeg file plays fine when viewed alone, but when you look at the timeline shot you will see that most of the clips appear to be the same shot - but they're not. If the time-line plays (not always) all I get is a series of stills but mainly the right audio! |

Hi David,
The folder we received from you was empty. Did the upload complete successfully?
Can you try the upload again? _________________ Regards,

Thank you, we received your files. However, you sent us a .mpg, not a Matrox .avi file. How did you create this .mpg since Matrox does not create this type of file? Through Adobe capture or export?
Also, the png file displays a clip with pink thumbnail on the timeline. Is this what you are referring to? The clip and thumbnail both contain pink? _________________ Regards,
