Hallo.

The problem is that when made a video recording in 16:9 and create a project in Adobe Premiere (Widescreen 16:9) video gives me the ratio of 4:3 with the horrible video quality and remains in this resolution and to export the same. When setting up a project to give the 4:3 timeline video shot in 16:9 and the video acts as a video with a resolution of 4:3 and are exported. Please help. I do not have the security that I exported the video and his remains burned to DVD in 16:9 format even though I be selected 4:3 project.

Excuse my bad English.

Windows XP (SP3)
Adobe Premiere CS3

Hi Dominik,

Can you confirm your RT.X2 and Adobe CS3 versions?
What is your exact Premiere CS3 update?

What is your sequence setting? HD or SD?
What is the source clip properties? can you change the Aspect Ratio using Premiere's Interpret Footage? Right-click the file in bin and select Interpret Footage. Verify the aspect ratio setting.
Are you playing back the file within Premiere or in another player app?

Please detail your workflow steps so we can better understand your issue and troubleshoot the steps in house.

To confirm, your source clip is a 4x3 clip? Or was this a 16x9 clip and imports incorrectly as a 4x3 clip?

Have you tried removing RT.X2 software and see if the same issue occurs in native Adobe DV widescreen sequence?

Please see this similar post which explains why the clip outputs 4:3 in Windows Media Player: http://forum.matrox.com/rtx2/viewtopic.php?t=8689

In addition, the latest RT.X2 drivers which support Adobe Premiere 3.2.0 is RT.X2 3.6 software. See our downloads link: http://www.matrox.com/video/en/support/downloads/

We await your feedback.

This problem is not just for windows media player but also in quick time, winamp, bs player, even on TV in the video burned to DVD. Video is recorded in 16:9 format camera. The classic Adobe DV widescreen sequence like this problem does not. Only Matrox DV widescreen.

Update 3.6 did not help, it still does not work as intended. I've tried it several times.

Hi,

We have a similar Known Issue documented in our Release Notes. Can you please try the following workaround when importing your source clip using Interpret Footage? http://www.matrox.com/video/media/pdf/support/rtx2/doc/en_Matrox_RT.X2_Release_Notes_36.pdf
When you capture and import widescreen 16:9 SD clips from a FireStore
drive to a Matrox project, the clips will be seen as standard 4:3 clips instead
of 16:9 clips. To resolve this problem, use Adobe Premiere Pro's Interpret
Footage command. (Ref# 43961)

Can you export your file type to Microsoft AVI > Matrox DV/DVCAM codec? Go to File > Export > Movie and on the General page, select the compressor you want on the Video page. See if this resolves the aspect ratio issue on export.

It works but I have a project in the ratio 4:3 (standard) and I have to export the video in 4:3 ratio. Exported video is then the ratio of 16:9.

_______________________________________________________________

When you export video on Matrox DV / DVCAM codec (4:3) and the project is holed up in a 4:3 ratio resulting video export me in the ratio 16:9.

Is not it strange?

To confirm, you do not have a 16X9 clip as exported file?
Can you change the exported file aspect ratio to 4x3 using Interpret Footage in Premiere?

Please specify your steps so we can understand your workflow.

Open the project Matrox SD standard (4:3), I import video into it in 16:9 format I export it in Matrox AVI (4:3) and exported video remains in the ratio 16:9. Which suits me but it's weird. The proportions in Premiere are already normal. Not in 4:3 but in 16:9.
The second HDD I have Adobe Premiere CS5. I tried the card to update to version 5.1.2.18 and there it works just like the CS3...

Thank you for the detailed update. This has been documented, however, as a workaround, please use the Interpret Footage functionality for aspect ratio issues.

Thanks again for your great feedback.
