|
|
Hi,
We created some large projects for one of our largest clients using an Edit system that runs RTX2 with Adobe Creative Suite 2. The project was completed and all was fine.
We have subsequently installed CS4 on the system and purchased a new edit suite running Blackmagic cards with CS4 also. PROBLEM. None of the footage that was edited using Creative Suite 2 will open on either machine regardless of which VFW codec pack we run. Both edit suites (Matrox RTX2 with CS4 and Blackmagic running CS4 with VFW codec pack installed) reject the video files (which are MPEG2 I-Frame) and give an error message in Premier CS4 that says "File size is too large", or something to that effect. Some will import, but when placed on the timeline they only reveal the audio file.
Can someone help?
I really dont want to have to remove CS4 and re-install CS2 to re-export these files - surely Matrox haven't slipped up so that CS2 files are incompatible with CS4 regardless of the machine and whether you have any of the 3 VFW codec packs installed?? |

The files wont work on a system that has CS4 and an RTX2 card installed.
Are you asking me to un-install a working video card from one of my systems to try and see if the files work?
The captured files are .avi files which say they are encoded with M703. None will load into any project on either system.
The RTX2 system is solely running CS4 suite. |

Can you confirm the exact version numbers for RT.X2 and CS4?
Is their a link you can provide to upload your problematic AVI files? _________________ Regards,

a possible work around is if you still have the copy of CS2 on an older computer, export an EDL, then open that EDL in CS4.
Or allow the files to be "offline all" and export and EDL, then edit the EDL in NOTEPAD and see if you can set the links to the file locations with a FIND REPLACE.
If the files are not opening at all in CS4 in any project, then I am at a loss as to why they aren't working. |
