|
|
When i try to import sequenced (long clips split in 4GB blocks) mxf-file into CS 4.1, with matrox tools 4.1 and LE, they are not recogniced with the correct field order, and look very bad when doing preview rendering. it is also not marked as ".mxf".
Same location, same camera, same p2-card, short clip, works without any problem.
I tried the same file on a none matrox system (same machine, only no rt.x2 le) with the same version of Premiere CS 4.1 - no problem. |

Hi,
Does this issue only occur with spanned MXF clips?
What format are the MXF P2 clips?
Regards,
Sam |

Hi,
We currently do not support realtime spanned P2 MXF clips. This is mentioned in our our Release Notes on page 14:
| Quote: | When you import a P2 .mxf file that is part of a series of spanned clips to a Matrox project, only the particular clip that you selected will be imported
instead of the entire series of spanned clips. Therefore, you’ll need to
individually import each of the spanned P2 clips. (Ref# 46460) |
As a workaround, please create and import non-spanned P2 MXF clips into your Matrox project.
We have addressed this issue to our engineering department and hope to have a solution in the near future.
Regards,
Sam |

But the quote is not right - when i import the first clip, the whole spanned clip is importet, but not in realtime and with the lower field as field order. all other (short) clips are recognized as upper field. when i import the first and the second clip of a spanned clip, both are importet as the whole spanned clip, but as written with the wrong field order. and a normal clip is shown as 0001AE.mxf, but the spanned is named as 0061CS, without the mxf extension.
i solved the problem as a temporary solution with the matrox mxf EZ-AVI option - no realtime but correct field order and good looking render. |

Hi,
In latest 4.1 drivers, we can import the spanned P2 MXF clips but these are not supported in realtime. Basically, Adobe handles the importing of these files, even in Matrox project.
Are you importing PAL files? This may be the reason you are getting field order difference. Adobe works in Lower Fields for PAL while Matrox works in Upper Fields. The name of the clip will take the first spanned MXF clip name when importing, should be the same in Adobe as well.
As a workaround, you can use the MXF EZ-AVI option for your editing workflow.
We are working on these P2 MXF issues with engineering and hope to have a fix in a future driver release.
Regards,
Sam |
