I agree. Setting up keyframes is time consuming when all you want is a simle transition. It's a shame that the only Matrox "transitions" are the wipes (and that it is such a process to create custom wipes! -- GFX files? Why not .bmp and .tga?).

How about a nice full-featured Matrox transition interface?

Hi AVi here,

I'am a new user of the RT.X2 and i come from the RT.X100.
What i expierience missing badly are the predefined transitions as implemented in the RT.X100.
I do not know how to implement f.e. a twirl between 2 clips any more, or a ripple transition, etc..
Is there an easy way to create those transitions in the RT.X2.

The only things that are present are effects.

Can Matrox add those transitions in a next update.

Hi to everyone,
I agree with you!!!!
if Matrox don't want give a presetted transition ( Page Curl, DVE, Particles), just give the plug-in to build by ourself and to save them.

Mark

why have we only got 1 matrox transition i thought that when you upgrade a product you would get more transitions not less. I wanted
to put the new card in and get on with my workload not spend hours trying to work out how i make a new transition. The matrox interface with
rtx100 was great and easy to use can you plaese put this in the rtx2.

Cheers

Yes, I need more transition.
I bought my previous RT.X100 and RTX 2 for speed up my production.
I disappointed to find out all the transitions are disappeared.
Some said those transition will have bias from professional user.
I totally don't agree with this; I alter the preset transition to create a lot of creative effect which save me a lot of time.
Further more if I really need to professional, I can use After Effect.
Now for some easy transition I used to use in RT.X100 with 2 to 5 steps; now it takes me more than 10 steps and plus have them doing in two spearate track. (it really make things complicated.)
I start to question why I have to use this?

For the record, there are a lot of canned effects in the preset list at the top of the effects list window in the matrox folder. The whole bunch of "rtx100" type FX are emulated (static 50%, hinge in ect.) and a sample of what to do with "impressionist " for example.
But not as transitions. So, to emulate transitions

1. overlap two clips.
2. Cut top clip at end of bottom clip.
3. apply preset FX.
4. pres space, sit back and watch the magic happen.
5. Tweek your effect and save as another preset.

The only serious drawback is, that in order to see different FX one after the other, you'll have to remove the previous one.

Hi Richard,
I already knew this trick, but probably I didn't understood you in the point 5.
Did u said that you can personalize a matrox Fx preset with keyframe and save it as a new preset?
I told this could not be possible because premiere pro doesn't have this fuction or better this is what Matrox support said on this forum.
If I understood well and you can do it, please post the step by step way to do it.
and about the trick, yes is a good workaround but is not very flexible as was the transition FX in RTX100, because if u have to invert the way of the transition, you have to do it moving the keyframe manually and if you want a longer transition you have to move keyframe manually at the opposite on RTX100 there is a check box to invert the transition and when you stretch the transition you will get a longer transition automatically.

Hi Matrox,

It is nice to give some 'product feature enhancements' but we do get little feedback.
Is there any idear when the transitions as functional in the RT.X100 will be available.
They were pretty handy and i (we) use them very often. Now in the RT.X2 there are less handy possibilities.

Hope to hear soon from you all Matrox guys and girls.

Greetings,

AVI

That's one thing I really miss. I loved that you had a bunch of transition styles to choose from under one category and that each transition could be tweaked and adjusted. This is important when working in professional video to make it look your own. I would love to get this feature back.
