Alright Matrox,
It's been almost a year since I purchased two RT.X2 cards. We were sold on the real-time editing capabilities and the support for P2 since that is our primary recording format.
However, since release 3.4 for Premiere Pro CS3.1, spanned clips have been broken when using a Matrox editing mode.
In an Adobe editing mode, you select ANY MXF file from a series of clips that are spanned, and it automatically imports it as one long shot. It maintains the user clip name and any metadata applied.
In a Matrox editing mode, you select one MXF file and that's the only portion you get. So, I have to open up the zillion XML files and use the Previous and Next XML tags to determine the order of these darn MXF files. I should not have to do this.
You've continued to advertise support for the Panasonic P2 format, suggesting that the RT.X2 enhances the functionality, when really, it breaks it. The time saved by having real-time editing is lost during this tedious import process when I have to stitch everything back together. Some of our shots are over 2 hours long, and with each MXF file being only 2 minutes long, this takes forever.
I've called and posted here several times about this, and each time I've been told that this issue would be escalated as a priority issue, yet it was not fixed in 3.5, 3.6, and now 4.0 has the same broken function.
When can I expect this issue to be fixed? Overall, I'm quite tempted to just sell these RT.X2 cards since they're really not saving me any time. |
