Motherboard: MSI MS-7589
CPU: Intel i7-870 2.93 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
Premiere Pro version: 5.03
Graphics card installed: GTX 470
Windows version: Win7 64
OS disk interface: SATA 250GB 7,200
Project disk: 2 x 2TB Raid 0
Windows 7 64-Bit Ultimate
Matrox RT.X2
Matrox Utils 5.1.2 18
Adobe Master Collection CS5.0.3
======================================
When running the tests from PPBM5.com I receive reasonably satisfactory results except for the Disk I/O test which takes about 620 seconds.
If I disable the Matrox Bus in the Device Manager the test only takes 103 seconds.
Obviously it appears that the RT.X2 hardware is the bottle neck for data
transfer, could anyone explain this.
Thanks Paul Man |

I reported on the same slowdown over on the MXO2 board also (and got no reply or comments). The hardware itself is not the problem, it is the software. Unistall the Matrox software and the disk i/o numbers drop to what you should be getting.
I am hoping that the software upgrade for the MXO2/CS5.5 will not show the same problem. If there is no software update for the RT.X2, we are stuck with the current situation. |

I'm not sure whether it's the hardware or software that's the problem.
I have tried uninstalling the software then running the test and also reinstalling the software and just disabling the Matrox Bus in the Device Manager and re-running the test after a reboot - the results were the same - about 5 times faster without the RT.X2.
I wonder if Matrox Support will be commenting?
