This is a weird problem and may not be related to RTX2, but I thought I give this forum a shot as you have hekped me a lot.

I have an 11 minute project that has up to 18 layers, cuts every 2-3 seconds, heavy effects etc. The source clips are from other projects that were imported and some of those contain imported projects including multicamera sequences. I know it is a twisted mess, but it didn't start that way. Nevertheless, it worked ok. Then, I experienced a problem with Photoshop that damaged Windows XP Pro so it wouldn't boot past the first screen. No error messages, just stayed on the first screen.
I tried to repair Windows to no avail and finally ended up rebuilding it on a new hard drive.

After re-installing Windows from the restoration disk that came with the computer, I re-installed CS3 Production Suite and then a new copy of Matrox 3.6 software. After doing all this I discovered that CS3 wouldn't start. After a lot of **** around I discovered that it has a limited number or reloads and I had used them all (Who knew?). Adobe gave me a new serial number which allowed Premiere Pro CS3 to start.

I loaded the project in question (wshich was saved on a different HD) and continued working on it. It was red lined all over the place, but after a long render it was green lined. I saved it and quit.

Returning later, I loaded the project only to discover that all the red line had returned. I repeated this several times with the same result.

I built a new sequence within the same project using the same assets and they edited, rendered and saved without any problems. It appears that the original timeline has something wrong with it, but what? and How can I avoid this problem in the future?

The system is a Dell workstation 670, 2-Xeon processors, 4 GB ram, hard drives loaded to less than 50%. CS3 is on one drive, the project and assets on two more drives. This system has performed for a couple of years and has been realtively stable.

Has anybody seen this problem before?
Jim

This is happening to me also.
Using 4.2. I render the sequence, save the project, close the project, reopen the project and many of my already rendered areas show up as needing to be rendered again.
