I am upgrading from Canapus and would like to know if this card has DV, Composite capture capabilities. I have a Canon Optima Xi camera.

Thanks! Smile

The RT.X2 comes with a breakout box with Composite (RCA), S-video and Component inputs and outputs, along with stereo RCA audio i/o. There is a 1394 pass-thru connection as well.

Analog SD video can be captured to the Matrox DV codec, or the Matrox MPEG-2 I-Frame codec, which uses 4:2:2 colorspace and would be a better quality than DV.

Analog HD 1080i can be captured via Component to the Matrox MPEG-2 I-Frame HD 4:2:2 codec. DV, DVCAM and HDV come in via 1394, and tapeless formats like P2 720p and Sony XDCAM EX are also supported. AVCHD is not at this time.

Note that if you capture a 1080i source using Component input, the HDV resolution of 1440x1080 is used, with a 1.333 pixel aspect.

If you have any other questions, just ask. Safe Harbor offers a 4-hour training video free with the RT.X2 purchase

Oh yeah, and Jeff Pulera is a legend. The X.2 is Jeff's real-time video tool of choice.

See. There. That ought to settle it for once and for all. Smile
