I am back on that -" "native 1920x1200 versus 1920x1080 required for HD video pro" - question...

a native 1920x1200 monitor is able to display 1920x1080 anyway ... I am right ? Dvi or HDMI *

on an other forum Joe Trepanier was saying that this way of monitoring wouldn't be accurate enough for HDMI out of the MXO 2 ... not pixel to pixel ?

and therefore Mxo 2 would be to picky to send an HDMI signal to such a monitor ?

----------------------
* after all : Apple Cinema displays are 1920x1200 and are recommended for MXO 1, (of course througt DVI there would be an other process I guess)

Hello fxparis

The MXO2's monitor/TV resolution specifications are found in this post .

Therefore, a monitor or TV connected to the MXO2 via HDMI must have the 1920x1080 resolution and go through the YUV colorspace.
Even if the monitor or TV max resolution is 1920x1200, just as long as it has the 1920x1080 resolution and colorspace needed, the monitor/TV should work connected via HDMI to the MXO2.

* Apple Cinema Displays with single DVI ports are recommended for the MXO, since the DVI signal from the MXO is 1920x1200 and ideal refresh rate is 59.94 Hz. The list of MXO validated DVI monitors are found here.

Please note that the MXO2 doesn’t have a DVI port, therefore you'd connect to the MXO2 via these HD and SD inputs and outputs.

Please state the MXO2 post from Joe Trepanier you are refering for monitoring HDMI out of the MXO2…

Thanks,
