|
|
I need help trouble shooting my MXO.
The MXO connected to an ACD used to work. My ACD flickered a couple to times and then when blank. I reconnected the ACD directly to the MacPro and that works fine.
Preference panel says that the MXO is not connected. I check the system profile and the MXO USB is not listed as connected. With a new USB cable I tried 2 different USB ports on the MacPro one direct through the front panel and one indirect through a bridge. I tried plugging the MXO USB into a MacBook Pro and non indications of MXO USB.
Blue light is on but not flashing.
I tested the power brick at no load and it gives 5.2V.
My MXO is connected to a Mac Pro running 10.7.5. MXO software is 2.2.0.0002. It is connected to the primary display port of the MacPro.
Suggestions?

Hi Rick,
When you say the MXO used to work fine, did it do so on this same Mac Pro system or another system?
What happens when you disconnect the DVI source feeding the MXO? Does the blue LED start to flicker ON and OFF? _________________ Regards,

The MXO worked with this system before, although it is possible that was with OS 10.7.4 and I now have 10.7.5.
With nothing plugged in except for power, the blue light is steady on, not flashing. I did try earlier with the USB cable connected, and it was still not flashing. The computer does not list the MXO as a connected device.
It is possible that the blue light is dim. I think I remember it as brighter, but I am not sure.

The way the LED should behave is as follows:
With MXO connected only to a/c power: LED should be OFF
With MXO connected to a/c power and USB: LED should flicker
With MXO connected to a/c power, USB, and DVI source: LED should be ON solidly
The system profiler should show a MXO by Matrox entry if at least the a/c power and USB cable is connected.
Can you double-check your LED behavior and system profiler? _________________ Regards,

LED is always on with power connected. It is on steady under all conditions of USB, DVI Input, DVI output connected or not.
The System Profiler does not show the MXO, even with the USB connected.

Ok thank you for the additional details. Since this MXO is not behaving normally, we will setup an rma for the MXO and power supply. Please see your email inbox for more details. _________________ Regards,

As a final test, can you try using a different usb cable? _________________ Regards,

Joe-
I went ahead and purchased the replacement power brick and that solved all my problems. My MXO lives again. I was not really ready to buy a MXO2 and a third monitor for hdmi.
Thanks
