My setup is an MBP 2.4 with 8600GT, 23" ACD, FCP 6.0.4. I just loaded the latest MXO SW.

When I load a color bar file all I get is a black screen and then the mxo SW will crash at some point. As I've never used this feature before I'm not sure what the problem is. Is there a special color bar file one needs to use? I've tried exporting my bars in a number for different formats and no go.

there's another topic about this. QT 7.5 not compatible. Downgrade to 7.4.5 until the MXO software is updated.

Thanks, it's not a big deal at this point, I'll just wait for them to update. I think my ACD is pretty close anyhow.

Hi rd4tile,

As jfleduc mentioned, there this conflict when QT 7.5 is installed on the machine.

The workaround for the moment is to uninstall QT 7.5 and install QT 7.4 to calibrate your monitor and then simply reinstall QT 7.5 on your machine.

Keep us posted,

Regards,
Bruno

How do I uninstall Quicktime 7.5 and reinstall 7.4.
After calibrated the monitor and have reinstalled the 7.5, in mastering mode to resume work or not?
Thank you

It's more complicated than searching Apple.com.

1-Go to Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts and delete QuickTime75_Leopard.pkg (if you're on Tiger, it won't be called Leopard but it's the same idea).

2-Download QT 7.4.5 For Tiger
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime745fortiger.html

or for Leopard:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime745forleopard.html

3-Download Pacifist
http://www.charlessoft.com/

You don't have to pay for it, you can use it a few times in trial mode.

Use Disk Utility to repair your disk permissions and restart

Use pacifist to open the .pkg Qt 7.4.5 installer that you just downloaded from Apple. Install and everytime a pop up comes on during the installation choose to replace the old files.

When you are done, repair the disk permissions again and restart (IMPORTANT).

After that, you're all done.

GIUFED: QuickTime 7.5 DOES NOT work with the MXO calibration tool. For now, you MUST downgrade to QuickTime 7.4.5 following my instructions above.

Did you update Final Cut to version 6.0.4? If so, there's not much you can do as FCP 6.0.4 requires QuickTime 7.5.

If that,s what you did, re-run software update to get QT 7.5 back and wait for Matrox to update the MXO driver, I mean it's been over a month now, I can't see them not updating the driver for another month!
