The new computer has different connections than my existing Macbook, e.g., no FW 400. Will will my Matrox and Display work if I buy a new computer? How?
thanks.

Hello Louis,
If you own a Matrox MXO, you will need either a DVI or HDMI output from your computer system. If the system has HDMI output, you can use a HDMI-to-DVI converter to connect to the MXO. The system will also need to have one free usb port. _________________ Regards,

I figure the new USB2 port will work as the USB port you suggest and the DVI can easily be converted with an adaptor. And your recent posts indicate the Matrox will work with Mtn. Lion and FCP 10, right?
Thanks.

Which recent posts are you referring to? No, we have no driver for MXO with Mountain Lion and/or FCP X. _________________ Regards,

So the new Macbook Pro laptops will not work with your Matrox device for viewing HD on a Cinema Display Monitor? These machines apparently do not work with FCP 7 and come with Mountain Lion installed. Do you see anything other than obsolesce for the Matrox? Another solution?
best,
L

The best option right now is to setup a separate partition with MAC Lion 10.7.4 and use the latest MXO driver version 2.2.0.0002. This drivers supports FCP 7.0.3. Of course the MAC system will still need to have at least a hdmi or dvi output in order to connect to the MXO.
We do not have any other information regarding future MXO drivers with Mountain Lion or for FCP X. However we always recommend to post a quick message on our Product Feature Enhancements section as it is monitored by our product managers. _________________ Regards,
