Hi
I have Avid 6.0.1.1 and the latest V7 Matrox software for my MX02 LE. I have a 1080P project with native 1080p AVCI 50 material. All formats I use (576P. 720P) output to my screen normally but not 1080P - it just goes black. If I switch the Avid project to the wrong setting of 1080i it comes up.
I tried a field monitor instead of the usual 42" Panasonic plasma (that takes 1080p in its spec) on the same HDMI out (different lead) and I do get a picture in both modes but the 1080P flickers (like an old 8mm film!).
Any ideas guys?
Thanks
D Evans |

| >sorry not allowed to edit earlier post< should say that there is no flicker in 1090i on the plasma TV - only the panel LED field monitor. |

Hi D Evans,
Thank you for posting your detailed information. It seems your Panasonic Plasma does not read the 1080p50 signal.
As for flickering on your output, have you tried setting the Video Output settings in Avid for MXO2 to 1080psf25? To do so, click the Settings tab in the Project window, and then double-click Video Output. In the Matrox Playback Settings dialog box, click the Video Output tab.
You can try setting the video output to 1080psf25 to verify if this works for your Panasonic Plasma TV.
Let us know your results. _________________ Regards,

| Sam - you nailed it! Thanks for the quick response. With Avid in 1080P I get the additional Matrox output choice of 1080psf. I'll be Googling that as I always thought Psf was just a way for tape decks to split HD frames so as it could record them; maybe not! Thanks again. DE |
