|
|
Hi everyone, need some advise. I am wondering whether I am going to upgrade my mbp this cycle. I presume that the mxo will not be supported for 10.7 and fcp X, so I'll need to keep a legacy system/partition running 10.6 and fcp 7. Any known issues with the latest mbp 17, thunderbolt to dvi connector and mxo? I've been checking this forum, but can't find much on this.
Any showstoppers if, when available, I would put an external thunderbolt hd/raid first, then connect a thunderbolt to dvi connector to go from the hd to the mxo?
Thanks,
Sandro |

Hi Sandro,
Although not officially tested, this should work. We are currently testing this here and will update with our results shortly.

Hello Sandro,
Yes, it will work in Presentation mode. As of today it will not work in Mastering mode.
If you use the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter http://store.apple.com/ca/product/MB570Z/A out of the Thunderbolt slot http://www.apple.com/ca/imac/specs.html you will be getting a DVI signal that our Matrox MXO accepts.
Unfortunately in Mastering mode there is a glitching issue, that that I can't be sure will be fixed, but this only occurs when using Thunderbolt as a Mini DisplayPort. However in Presentation mode http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/mac/mxo/scan_conversion/ it still works in Presentation mode, as it has in the past.
I hope this helps. _________________ -Mac

That's pretty good news, moderator. Do you know if we will be able to chain the thunderbolt adapter from a thunderbolt hd and then feed the matrox via that thunderbolt to dvi adapter? |

Hello folks,
MXO will not have thunderbolt support, only the MXO2 line. Offically Lion OS would have to be installed.
