ATI 5770 and connections...

For my Mac Pro (1,1) I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card (now an X1900).
As it seems, the ATI 5770 should work on my system, the only thing I'm wondering is, will it work with the MXO...??
I'm using a 30" screen as my main display (which needs a dual-link DVI port).

Will the MXO work thru a mini-displayport to DVI adapter?
(The mini-displayport to dual-link DVI adapters seem quite expensive, plus I'm reading about problems with them...)

That should work as per the instructions in the user guide system requirements (pg 4):

"Display card with a secondary DVI-I or Mini DisplayPort connector. Must
be able to display 1920?1200 at 60 Hz. A Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter
is required for Mini DisplayPort display cards."
