|
|
I am running Avid MC5 on a Dell 670 XP SP3 and am looking at the MXO2 Mini as a tool. Your answers are very much appreciated.
To use MAX H.264 accelerated conversion what PC applications are supported? After Effects? Sorenson. QT Pro?
If I export as a QT reference file, then convert using QT pro 7.6 is there any penalty in quality or process speed?
Can a plain mini be upgraded to a mini Max at a future date?
I have a PCIe 2 x16 slot open. Will this work with the mini interface card?
Thanks in advance |

Currently, the MAX encoding on the PC is only tied into the Adobe Media Encoder with Premiere Pro, and I don't know if Matrox is planning any 3rd-party support with the PC (Telestream Episode encoder is supported on the Mac).
If you have an MXO2 Mini and want to add MAX later, you can just get the CompressHD card for your desktop, but again, MAX is not supported for MC5 users, MXO2 Mini is for preview only at this time.
I don't believe the Mini is fussy about exactly what kind of PCIe slot you use - "One free PCIe slot on a desktop computer to install the Matrox PCIe host adapter."
