I've been looking for the steps to upconvert SD to HD. The video in question was shot on an XHA1 at 30fps 16x9..but the operator didn't make the switch to HD until after shooting one full tape. I thought the MXO2 Mini was supposed to be able to do this..so maybe I just don't know where to look

Yes, the Mac drivers for the MXO2 allow you to up/down and cross convert ... but the PC drivers do not yet allow this.

Hi,

As mentioned by Andy, the MXO2 product on MAC supports all hardware scaling conversions (up/down/cross) although the MXO2 PC product family only supports hardware downscaling. Therefore, you will not be able to upconvert through MXO2 on the PC. Thanks Andy for your input.

Please let us know if you require additional inquiries.
Regards,
Sam

Hi,

You can make a feature request for up/cross conversions in our Product Feature and Enhancement section of the forum as this section is monitored by our Product Managers. http://forum.matrox.com/mxo/viewforum.php?f=6
I am not aware of what features will be implemented in the future but with enough requests for certain features, i am sure they can be prioritized and possibly added to the product.

Regards,
Sam

I understand about the priortization, but I don't unerstand why such an important feature is not available on both OS. Can Windows not support this or this some technical reason why it can't be done in WIndows?

Hi,

I am not aware of why this is not present on the PC side. Although, i would assume since it is on the Mac side, that this may be doable in the future on the PC. Please stay posted for any further updates we may have.

Regards,
Sam
