Hi,

Just a few quick questions before i purchase a MX02 LE.

I've read through a whole lot of posts of Creative Cow about the MX02 LE and I would like to know if it is possible to connect the MX02 LE (via HDMI) to a 1920 x 1080 LCD Computer Monitor (that has HDMI input) --- instead of a HDTV, and still receive the same benefits??

Also, this signal that is output via HDMI to either a HDTV or compatible monitor...is it a true non-dithered signal that is free from any "cleaning" by the graphics card?
...basically, in the same way that the MXO bypasses Dithering and cleaning of the signal by the graphics card, to output a raw YUV signal...does the MX02 LE provide this via HDMI??...

Hi Andrew

Yes, the MXO2 will allow you to output to your 1920x1080 native monitor via HDMI or other directly supported input, assuming that it supports an interlaced input signal. If you are not sure whether this is the case for your specific monitor then you might want to post the details of your intended monitor in case someone here can offer specific experience of that monitor.

Also yes, the MXO2 output is "clean".

Best
Andy

Hi,

Thanks for the reply Andy. I am going to be using the MX02 LE's HMDI function with a LG W2353V

http://www.lg.com/au/it-products/monitors/LG-wide-screen-monitors-W2353V-PF.jsp

Not sure whether this supports a interlaced signal as you asked?

Also i had a chat to Matrox's Australian importer/distributor (New Magic) today, and thankfully the MX02 LE doesn't output a "clean" signal. It instead outputs a pure non dithered, YUV signal when using a HDMI and SDI...

Heee... apologies for the terminology mix up Smile

Re the monitor (sorry, network too slow here, the linked specs don't load) if it has an HDMI input (ie you're not planning on using an HDMI>DVI convertor) then you should be fine.
