Hi!

No that I've tested many, many ways to downrez HD to SD, software scalers as hardware scalers, I want to post my result here:

The Maxtrox MXO2 Hardware Scaling is far the best!!!

(e.g. AJA delivers a downrez quality somewhere at Compressor with best scaling, but due to some blurryness both are not as good as scaling within FCP)

Why I write here?

I request a small application to downrez my ProResHQ 1080i Masters
to 10-bit SD uncompressed Quicktimes, using Matrox' excellent Hardware Scaler.

Is this possible? My current workaround is to connect AJA's KiPRO to my MXO2 Rack and capture the HD-SDI signal to uncompressed 10-bit SD.
But a small application would fit very well into my DVD workflow !

BDW: I've also tried to hardware-downrez with my CompressHD
into a ultra HQ H.264 SD stream. Due to deinterlacing the results weren't the best! Are there also different hardware scalers at work?

Best regards,
Bernhard
