It is sometimes very hard (only by starting up FCP and recording mode) to see if there is a valid signal.
If there was an indication in the 'Systems Preference' Menu of the 'Matrox MXO2' which shows which input has signal, and which resolution and framerate would make it more professional. |

Agreed. MXO2 Preference Pane needs a "Preview" tab under which one can preview the incoming Audio and Video (according to the selected A/V Input >> Input Source) together with a display of technical information pertaining to the incoming video eg frame size, frame rate and audio levels.
