I have upgraded my Mac Pro OSX to SL, and FS2 to FS3.
Latest MXO2 software I have is 1.5.0, I can only get the Audio playing on second monitor after the upgrade, but no video.
Followed procedure to upgrade to 1.7, it says software is removed and when restarting it is still there, unable to install upgrade!!
Please help..

Hi hjubran,

Did you try to uninstall the 1.5 drivers before or after the upgrades? If you tried to uninstall them after updating to SL, please see this thread. I know this thread mentions specifically the 1.6 drivers, but it may still apply for the 1.5 drivers.

Regards,
Matthew

Mathew,

Thanks for the response.
AS I mentioned, the 1.5 driver was installed before the upgrades to SL and FCS3, and I cannot UNINSTALL it in order to install ANY other driver.
Do you have any other ideas?

Hi hjubran

I understand the 1.5 drivers were installed before the updates, but when did you first try uninstalling them; before or after the updates?

Have you tried just installing the 1.7 drivers on top of the 1.5 drivers?

Regards,
Matthew

Mathew,

I did not remove the 1.5 before the upgrade, and when I try to install the 1.7 I get stuck at the step when you pick which drive to install at, saying you must first uninstall the current software ( which I already did).

Is there another way to install the 1.7, or to remove the 1.5, other than the manual instructions?

I did the following;

1. Manually removed the Matrox folder from the Application to the Trash.
2. Emptied Trash.
3. Reboot, Installed 1.6, this time it did go through.
4.Uninstalled 1.6, reboot, installed 1.7, reboot, and it seems to be working fine now.

I'll followup on the same thread if encountered any issues.

Thanks for the reply anyway.

Hi hjubran,

Glad to hear you got it to work!

Can you double check the software and firmware versions listed under Apple>System Preferences>Matrox MXO2>Info tab?

Regards,
Matthew

Hi Matthew,

It is the correct version under System Preferences.

As I mentioned above I tested some of the Matrox presets in FC7, I can display the timeline on external monitor.

I am still to check capturing footage using this new driver.

Hi Hana,

What about the firmware version? I'd like to make sure that the box updated with this latest install.

Regards,
Matthew

Hi Hana,

That's the correct firmware version. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to start a new thread.

Regards,
Matthew
