Hi I'm wondering if I should purchase the mxo or mxo2. One reason I was leaning toward the mxo2 is that I already have two monitors hooked up to my Intel Mac Pro G5 via the DVI ports, and the mxo would take up one of them. Editing in Final Cut I need all the desktop space I can get. It seems that using the PCIE expansion slot the MXO would allow me to still be able to use my current set up.
Question 1: Would the G5 be able to support the two monitors, plus the 30" HDTV hooked up via my hd decklink pro, and the mxo2 via another PCIE expansion slot?
Question 2: Accurate color correction is the primary reason for my purchase, I have heard great things about the MXO and the 23" cinema display, what would be the equivalent display to use for the MXO2 for accurate broadcast color monitoring? |

Ok, some confusion here ... is it an Intel Mac Pro, or is it a PowerMac G5 ?
The MXO2 requires a Mac with an Intel-based processor, so if your Mac is a G5 then the MXO2 is not the right choice. You can always go with the MXO tho, if you want a dual monitor setup for your workspace then you just need to pick up an extra Graphics card ACD 23" and you're away.
Hope it helps
