|
|
Hello
We have a Matrox MXO2 MAX connected to our PC and we use Premiere Pro CC 2015 for video editing.
Currently it is not working. Premiere won't playback the video from the timeline. We can not see the Matrox option in Premiere preference > playback.
We have uninstalled the old driver and downloaded the newest from the website, but it did not work.
We can see the Matrox X.info is open down in the right corner and that the Matrox hardware is connected.
We can open Matrox AV Tools and capture video via SDI, but we can't capture video using Premiere.
Are there any folders in Windows where we can check to see if the Matrox is properly installed into Premiere?
Or do you have any other solutions/suggestions?
Best regards
Lars |

Hi Lars,
Can you confirm the version of Mtx.utils and Premiere CC2015?
Do you see the Matrox Player in Adobe Preferences, and Matrox Effects?
Do you have Matrox Player selected in Video device of Premiere Preferences?
Is Adobe CC 2015 installed in the default C:\Program Files path?
Did you have previous versions of Adobe installed on the system?
When removing Adobe, did you run the Adobe cleaner tool? https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
Is Matrox hardware detected in Matrox X-info? Right click green M icon on task bar (bottom right hand corner) and open to Hardware pane.
Are you running Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 64-bit?
When installing Matrox software, did you follow these steps?
- uninstall the current MXO2 drivers
- download and right-click the Mtx.utils exe file and select Properties. Under the General tab, click unblock (at the bottom) if it is seen.
- Make sure the UAC option is turned off (set to Never Notify in Windows 7 settings) before running the MXO2 setup * may need to reboot
To disable UAC option or set it to Never Notify in Windows 7, please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975787
- Run Mtx.utils setup and then make sure a full reboot and power cycle is performed (after install is complete, shutdown PC, disconnect MXO2 power for several seconds, reconnect power of MXO2 and then power up the PC)
- re-enable UAC option if needed _________________ Regards,

You can verify if the following plugin files are located in these locations:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\Matrox Video (4 prm files here)
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Plug-ins\Common\Matrox Video (12 files here)
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Plug-ins\en_US\Effect Presets (1 Matrox effect preset file)
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Settings\Editing Modes (1 Matrox xml file here)
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Settings\SequencePresets (MPEG-2 I-frame, Uncompressed 8-bit
and Uncompressed 10-bit folders here) _________________ Regards,

Hello again
The version of Mtx.utils is 8.0.0.15342 and the version of premiere is Premiere Pro CC 9.2.0 (41) Build.
There is no option to select Matrox in video device under playback in preferences.
Premiere is installed under:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015
We have never had CS5 installed on this machine. We have some CS6 programs, but the Matrox has worked with these installed before.
On the task bar we have a blue M from Matrox, and I can open it and see hardware info from the MXO2.
Yes we are running Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 64-bit.
I have tried the installation process you suggested, it did not work.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\Matrox Video
I cant see this folder. I can go to: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore - But then there are no more folders. Idont have the Matrox Video folder and no files.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Plug-ins\Common\Matrox Video
Again I don't have the Matrox video folder.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Plug-ins\en_US\Effect Presets
In this folder I only have 2 files. Factory Presets and Lumetri Presets. Nothing called Matrox.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Settings\SequencePresets
Here I do not have the MPEG-2 I-frame, Uncompressed 8-bit
and Uncompressed 10-bit folders.
It seems like the installer hasn't installed into the premiere folders.
Do you have any solutions? |

We can send you the Adobe CC2015 plugins and you can copy them over manually. See if this works.
Otherwise, you may need to run the Adobe cleaner tool to avoid conflict between the multiple versions of Adobe you had installed previously. You can try running Adobe cleaner tool and performing a fresh install of Adobe Premiere CC2015. Here is the Adobe cleaner tool: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
If you decide to run Adobe cleaner, make sure to first uninstall Matrox software, run cleaner tool, reboot and run cleaner tool again. Once Adobe are removed, install fresh Adobe CC 2015 apps + updates, and then install Matrox 8.0 drivers. _________________ Regards,
