It seems my box is dead. I've tried every combination of plugging / un plugging. Installing, re-installing. The software isn't recognizing that it's connected and it is definitely connected. Plugged into the wall and my PCI slot.
I'm on a Mac Pro 10.6.4 |

Please try all other available pci slots in your MAC. Every time you try one slot, load into OSX and load up your system profiler. Once there, check on the PCI cards category. Do you see a device there labelled 'other multimedia'?
If yes, then proceed with the driver installation. If no, then try another pci slot.
Also, does the blue led turn on when the mxo2 mini is powered and connected to the pci card via the external host cable? _________________ Regards,

I tried both available slots, neither are showing up in the system profile. The blue light isn't on. It came on for a second when I was first installing it, but now it won't turn on with any combination of connections. I suspect something happened during the firmware update. Is there a way to shock the firmware or something? |

You can try to reload the firmware by running the Matrox MAX firmware updater in the Applications > Matrox program group but I doubt it will work since your system is not detecting your mxo2 in the system profiler. If it does not work, let me know so we can setup an exchange. _________________ Regards,

Alexis, yes we can setup an RMA for you. Just check your host cable connection first. Often, the pins can become damaged and not make proper contact between the MXO2 box and the PCI-e adapter. Remove the cable completely and inspect both ends (connectors). Look for any damaged pins.
Alexis, are you also not seeing 'other multimedia' in PCI cards in system profiler? _________________ Regards,

Hello,
i work under windows 7 64 bits, and no, there is nothing in device manager, i also have an expresscard on my laptop, and it doesn't work too. I also have a second matrox mini, so i tried with the other cable, and nothing. The other matrox work perfectly.
That's all...

Thank you for the additional information Alexis.
Just to clarify, you have two MXO2 units and one works fine with both adapter cards, and the other fails?
If so, then we can request to exchange just the MXO2 box that does not work. To set up an rma, please call us or email us the serial number of the defective box and we will proceed.
Thank you. _________________ Regards,

Hi -
Just purchased and attempted to install the MX02 Mini with PCI card in a Mac Pro desktop computer. I have tried reseating the PCI card in all available PCI slots and it still has not shown up as recognized in the System Profiler. Also, when connected to a power source, no LED light illuminates.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt |

Hi Matt, please try the following:
- remove pci-express card and disconnect the host cable. Disconnect the end on the MXO2 as well. Take a look at the cable connectors and verify that there are no damaged pins. Now re-connect in the opposite way as was already connected. To make a snug fit, first pull out the little screws on the connector, then plug in the connector, and finally tighten the screws.
-Re-insert pci-express card in MBP. Load system profiler ->pci cards. Check if you have a 'other multimedia' device. If so, you can proceed to install the Matrox driver (if not already installed). _________________ Regards,

I have the same problem. The light is off. I did everything suggested here but to no avail. On the system profiler there's no card detected.
I live in Chile.
How can I get a new card? |
