Hello Bruno,
The MXO2 line of products can connect to computer systems using the following methods:
1. PCI-e adapter (PC and MAC desktop systems with available PCI-e slot)
2. Express/34 adapter (PC and MAC portable systems with available express/34 slot)
3. Thunderbolt adapter (MAC only)
Therefore, if your current MAC Pro system (2007) has an available PCI-e slot, then you can purchase the MXO2 Mini with the PCI-e adapter. You can also purchase a Matrox Thunderbolt adapter to support your future MAC Pro (2013) purchase since these do not have PCI-e slots.
For MAX technology, just purchase the MXO2 Mini with MAX. This technology is not dependant on the connection type. _________________ Regards,
