Three months now and the MX02 is still a brick. Is that it? Has Matrox given up on the new driver for Mavericks? The understanding begged for in the october technical "statement" is wearing thin. |

Please Joe, could you define "very soon"? In my book this is not several months. We are end of March now. I have a shiny new Mavericks MacBook Pro collecting dust. |

Will there be the chance that FCP7 will be supported sometime soon with the Mavericks driver - or is it time to say goodbye...? |

At the moment, we don't have any news to report regarding the release of a Quicktime-based driver to support FCP7 with Mavericks. For FCP7 users, we recommend using 10.7.5 or 10.8.5 with MXO2 2.6.1.0001. This can be setup in a dual boot configuration as follows:
1. Create an extra boot partition on your hard drive.
Instructional video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bea0iNuP5yE
2. Install MAC OSX 10.8.5 on the new partition.
3. Setup your partitions as follows:
- Boot 1 (existing partition): 10.9.2 / FCP X 10.1.1 / Matrox 4.1.0.0019
- Boot 2 (new partition): 10.8.5 / FCP 7.0.3 / Matrox 2.6.1.0001
4. To choose which partition to boot from, hold the 'Alt/Option' key on your MAC when you hear the MAC boot-up sound at startup.
Note: These 2 Matrox software versions share the same firmware. Therefore, there will be no need to update the firmware when switching between partitions. _________________ Regards,

Hi Joe - thanks for the info. I currently run FCP7 on one partition (via MXO2), MC7 on another (via MXO2 mini), and was going to run fcpx on a third.
Unfortunately it's impossible to install anything earlier than Mavericks on late 2013 Macs- it comes with Mavericks and that's what you have to use.
I still have numerous ongoing projects on FCP7, so it means having stick with the old Mac tower for the some time to come.
Unless you know different... |

Hi Andrew. I've not heard of MAC systems that cannot run an older OS such as Mountain Lion. Is this something new? If you have a link to an apple spec site that states this, I would like to review it. If we do release something for Mavericks and FCP7, then it will be announced. _________________ Regards,
