|
|
Hi,
Is there a way to create files for Blu Ray ready to import to Encore CS6 with AME using MAX? There seems to be a Quicktime method but that creates a .mov file, not separate assets.
I am using CC, Encore CS6 with a MXO2 LE MAX on a Mac Pro with OSX 10.7.5 and Matrox version 4.0.0.0042.
I know I can use the existing H.264 preset in AME but I assume this would be slower than using MAX. Is that right?

Hi Mark,
The MXO2 does not support creating Matrox Blu-Ray .264 files in Premiere/AME, only Quicktime .mov as you mentioned. You can however export via Apple Compressor to create these .264 Matrox files.
If you decide to use the Adobe H.264 native files, this can be slower than using MAX but all depending on type of footage, codec, segments, duration of timeline etc...
Hope this information is helpful. _________________ Regards,

Hi Sam,
Thanks.
I guess the workflow for that would require exporting a movie file of the sequence in QT ProRes for example, in order to open it in Compressor, then compress to H264.
I will have a play and see if there is anything to gain doing it that way.
Cheers,

Yes, this is correct. You can export to QT movie in Premiere and then import that file into Compressor for encoding to Matrox H.264.
Hope this helps. _________________ Regards,

I have tried several times to use Compressor v4.0.7 and the Matrox preset "Matrox MAX H.264 1080i 25 for Blu-ray" the HQ version.
The encode doesn't happen - zero frames are rendered; no flashing light from the MXO, it just sits there.
When I used to do this with FCP7 and the older Compressor, it would not work if Qmaster was set to allow other computers to help with the encode. It seems that Qmaster is now integrated with Compressor 4 - could this be why it is not working?

Have you tried Compressing file in Compressor without Qmaster?
Are you running only with Compressor app opened?
Some users who have had anomalies with Compressor have ran Compressor Repair to clear any corrupted preferences etc..

Please try Compressor Repair and see if this helps. _________________ Regards,
