I'm trying to upgrade my OS and Avid Media Composer and my Matrox drive and I'm having trouble finding where I can download Mac OS 10.8.2. The current version is 10.8.4 and I am currently running 10.6.8. If I can't find 10.8.2 (the latest version supported by Matrox) will 10.8.4 work?
Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi Martin,
What is your current version of Avid Media Composer software and MXO2 drivers?
If you are planning to use MXO2 3.3 release and Avid MC6/6.5, this will support the latest MAC OSX 10.8.4.

Ah, that's great, Sam. I've just learned on an Apple forum that you can't legally purchase anything other than the current OS. But Avid only qualifies MC 6.5.3 for OS 10.8.3. Do you know if I'm safe with 10.8.4? |

We are currently running certification tests with Avid 6.5.3 updates using MXO2 latest drivers with latest MAC 10.8.4 updates. Please stay posted for confirmation.
On a side note, our downloads page mention that Avid Media Composer 6.5.2.1 has been certified with MXO2 3.3 release and OSX 10.8.4.

The sanity tests with Avid MC 6.5.3 update are proving to be successful thus far.

A moderator can get you a better driver, but it'll only monitor do Avid - no Adobe apps or FCP X. |

isaac@happeesmith.com, the current driver you mentioned is not officially available to the public. Currently, we should be working well with Avid 6.5.3 updates and current 3.3 release.

To clarify:
Basically, he asked if the 3.3 driver works. You said it does. According to my thread, it doesn't.
Did you upload a new driver but not change the version number? If so, I'll re-download it right now! (I want my FCP X and Adobe app monitoring.)
Otherwise, he's gonna run into the same issue we did ??audio chokes on playback unless you're in Draft Mode. |

Oops, wasn't getting reply notifications to this thread. I've now done the install, but won't be able to put it through its paces for a couple of days.
I had one very serious glitch in my updating that probably shouldn't be buried in this thread, but I can't really start a new one right now. I upgraded from OS 10.6.8 to OS 10.8.4 and then had to uninstall Media Composer 5.5.8 (I think) and install 6.5.3. Until I installed the new Matrox driver my Mac ?even without MC being launched? would periodically crash and do a hard restart. This turned out to be caused by having the older driver installed.
Just passing that along.

Many users have been running Avid 6.5 with Mountain Lion and not all users have reported your specific audio issue.
The user can upgrade to Avid MC6.5.3 and ML 10.8.4 and let us know the results with MXO2 3.3 release.

Thanks for the update Martin. In your new ML 10.8.4 OSX, please make sure to remove previous versions of Avid before installing fresh install of Avid MC6.5.3 and updating your MXO2 3.3 software.
