After installing MTX.utils over PPRO 2015.2 it starts too slowly.
In fact it starts loading (showing modules being initialized) and then stops for minute or more showing "ExportAVI.prm" module and giving no response.
After long pause loading resumes and everything works fine.
Should mention that without MTX.utils PPro starts smooth and fast.

How can I get rid of this problem?

Regards
Michel.

Hi Michel,

Generally, it does take a little longer to load with Matrox plugins and files on initial startup of Premiere. This will initiate all Matrox plugins and files, and with there being more files to load with Matrox it is normal to take longer. Subsequent startups of Premiere should be a little faster but not as fast as Adobe stand-alone without 3rd-party plugins.

When installing Matrox software, did you follow these steps?
- uninstall the current MXO2 drivers
- download and right-click the Mtx.utils exe file and select Properties. Under the General tab, click unblock (at the bottom) if it is seen.
- Make sure the UAC option is turned off (set to Never Notify in Windows 7 settings) before running the MXO2 setup * may need to reboot
To disable UAC option or set it to Never Notify in Windows 7, please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975787
- Run Mtx.utils setup and then make sure a full reboot and power cycle is performed (after install is complete, shutdown PC, disconnect MXO2 power for several seconds, reconnect power of MXO2 and then power up the PC)
- re-enable UAC option if needed

Yes, it takes longer, much longer...
I tried to re-install mtx.utils, but there was no effect.
If matrox plugins take so much time to initialize, can I remove all matrox plugins except mercury transmit as I don't really need them.

Is it better with subsequent startups of Premiere?

You can verify if the following plugin files are located in these locations however, this may still not work since there are registry files and dlls:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\Matrox Video (4 prm files here)

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Plug-ins\Common\Matrox Video (12 files here)

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Plug-ins\en_US\Effect Presets (1 Matrox effect preset file)

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Settings\Editing Modes (1 Matrox xml file here)

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015\Settings\SequencePresets (MPEG-2 I-frame, Uncompressed 8-bit
and Uncompressed 10-bit folders here)

No, it isn't. It's still slow...
It starts fast only when mtx.utils is uninstalled.

Unfortunately, no other plugin I have doesn't init as slow as matrox does.
Do you have an idea which of matrox plugins causes this delay and why?
This behavior looks like a timeout...

One more strange thing: I get a message in system log that "The Matrox PCI Optimizer failed to start because a required system file cannot be found or is not registered". I checked it, it exists and is executable. And everything works ok. I tried to re-seat matrox card, reconnect cable etc. Nothing changes, but everything works.
Any ideas?

Regards,
Michel.

Some more questions:
What is matrox PCI optimizer service and what does it do?
I found out it comes from early pci card drivers .
Is it really necessary with modern fast systems?
I asked some people with matrox hardware, MXO and mojito, and all of them suffer from slow PPro start, and all of them have syslog messages about optimizer, and all of them don't have any matrox pci optimizer service running in process list.

Dear forum members, who has slow PPro start and who don't, respond, please.

Regards,
Michel.

Hi Michel,

According to our engineering department, the mvOptimizerService is a service that starts, does certain things within registry depending on the system, and then stops.

Can you try stopping the service and see if this helps loading time of Premiere?

Then this should not interfere with loading of Premiere. Have you tried removing only Matrox plugins instead of uninstalling Mtx.utils?

I tried to remove matrox plug-ins, but that did not help. But when I was upgrading PPRO and removed mtx.utils and updated PPro it was starting fast.
Then I installed mtx.utils and start delay returned.

As mentioned, there will be a loading time difference between Adobe stand-alone and Matrox.

Hello,
I'm having the exact same problem on Premiere Pro CS 6.0.5 after installing 8.0.0.15342 on Windows 7 x64. All drivers up to date. Followed the exact installation instructions by Matrox. The loading time while it shows "ExporterAVI.prm" is almost 60 seconds, compared to maybe 2 seconds without Matrox software installed. How can we solve that problem - it clearly seems to be a problem with the Matrox VFW Codecs. Any help is appreciated.

Hello once again,
the problem also occurs when opening Encore DVD CS6. Just for your information. There is also Matrox WYSIWYG Sofwtare installed that extremely slows down start-up time.
