Hi -

I'm trying to capture color component video into my Matrox MXO2 mini, and I'm not having a ton of luck. I'm running Mavericks on the Mac Pro, so I installed the corresponding Matrox Ventura Capture (Matrox Utilities 4.2.0.0006.pkg). It's a bit flaky but it seems to work alright; unfortunately, the best I seem to be able to capture is grayscale/B&W capture rather than color, regardless of capture settings.

Any ideas would be super helpful.

Thanks.
Evan

Hi Evan,

Before you start capturing you need to configure the A/V input section of the Matrox preferences. Set appropriate input according to the physical connection to device you are capturing from as the source for both Video and Audio.

Go to > Mac System Preferences > Matrox MXO2 > AV Input > Input source > select matching input and make sure "Capture unstable video signal" feature is checked.

Then make sure that "Scale input for capture" option is not selected. Load Vetura and match the video format to the format being output from your device (camera, deck, etc).

Please note, by default the analog output on MXO2 unit is set to COMPONENT. If you are connecting a Composite cable to the green jack only, you are only getting the Luminance (brightness) part of the video signal that results B&W video.

I hope this helps

Issue has been fixed by correcting the input and capture settings. We will lock this case but please start a new post for any new issues you encounter.
