I can get video on my second monitor but no audio thru my MXO device. Do I need new firmware? New drivers?
Is FCP X supported? Will it be supported? |

MXO does not support FCP X or Mavericks.
The latest driver is 2.2.0 which support FCP 7.0.3 under Lion (10.7.x). _________________ Regards,

Does it still have any value in the post-production world then? Is it being supported on other platforms/apps or has it become obsolete? |

Currently most MXO owners are still using their device with FCP 7.0.3 for mastering mode and they also use it for presentation mode. The OSX must be Lion (supported). _________________ Regards,

Thanks, Joe, but why only half an answer?
Is it being supported on other platforms/apps or has it become obsolete for those moving forward from FCP7? |

No other applications are supported other than those documented with current driver releases. We have no information on any upcoming drivers for MXO.
For FCP X monitoring, we support it with MXO2 products under Lion and Mountain Lion. Mavericks drivers are upcoming. _________________ Regards,

MXO and Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 are essentially in the same (slowly sinking) boat. I'm still using both, but it's clear the end is coming. I got almost 5 years of use out of MXO, which I guess is better than average for most computer related items. |

FCP 7.0.3 is still being used by many editors so the MXO is useful for Mastering mode.
If no editing applications are used, then the MXO can be used to extend your desktop to an external monitor using Presentation mode. _________________ Regards,

Hi, i am not sure what happens. The only thing is, that Matrox is also late with driver and firmware, when Apple has updated their products and system (
I will change next week to Blackmagic Design. They have also an good support!
Cheers! |

Appreciate the feedback. We will close this thread. Please start a new thread if encountering any issues with your MXO using supported software. _________________ Regards,
