I need a solution for my mac book pro, with mini display port, and no card compatibility or thunderbolt. I want to use the max mini with max acceleration. I was hoping I didn't have to purchase a new mac. PLEASE HELP. Can I just use my mini display port with and HDMI adapter to input into the matrox mini?

Hello Mauriel and thank you for your interest in Matrox products. Our Matrox MAX technology http://www.matrox.com/video/en/solutions/encoding/ is availible on our MAX versions of our MXO2 family of products as well as our Mojito MAX and our CompressHD card. The only way the latter 2 connect to your computer is through a free PCIe port. With the MXO2 family of products you can connect via PCie, ExpressCard/34 slot and a Thunderbolt port though our Thunderbolt adapter or our soon to be released MXO2 Docking station http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/mxo2_dock/?ref=homepageflash.

Unfortunately there is no way to connect your Mac Book Pro to our devices.

regards,

JD
