|
|
I have been using MX02 mini on Mac OSX (snow leopard) 10.6.6 with FCP 7.0.3 successfully for over a year. I now have Adobe CS 5.0.4 on the same system and am trying to see PremierePro output.
There are no Matrox seq. presets, although in the Premiere preferences (Audio Hardware) Matrox MXO2 Mini Audio Output is an option (it appears twice; once as mentioned, and also as input/output). And I do get audio from the Mini if I select it.
My Matrox software is 2.2.1.0042, which according to your Driver Guide, supports CS 5.0.3 (I have .4). My firmware is 12.1.
I see that the next driver up - .0043 - supports CS5.5. (I have 5.0.4).
Hope it's something simple.
Thanks

Hi Bob,
Please go through this checklist and let me know if you're able to playback your sequences properly. Please verify the documentation to make sure the format you are outputting is one supported by your specific monitor.
Premiere/Matrox Checklist
1. Close Premiere
2. Go to System Preferences -> Sound -> Output
3. Change the default device to anything other than Matrox
4. Go to username->library->application support->adobe->Premiere Pro->5 and delete the 'Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs' file (or use the 'preference manager' 3rd party application)
5. Restart MAC
6. Load Premiere by pressing on Option+Command+Shift. Keep holding these keys while loading premiere from the Dock or Applications folder. Release the keys only once you reach the Open Project window in Premiere. If done properly, the mru list of projects should be empty.
7. Open a new project and select a Matrox sequence preset.
8. Verify the following settings In Premiere Preferences:
- Audio Hardware: Default Device: set it to anything other than Matrox
- Audio Output Mapping: Map Output for: set it to anything other than Matrox
- Close Premiere and re-open (only if you made any changes)
9. Select a Matrox sequence, load a video clip, test playback.
In Premiere, if you are working in a Matrox sequence and want to also output the Source window content through the MXO2, then you can do so by opening Premiere Preferences -> Player Settings -> and setting the value to 'Matrox Player'. Your source window video and audio will now be output through the MXO2.
Note that you cannot output the audio through the system sound card when working in a Matrox sequence. _________________ Regards,

Hi Joe,
I had actually tried all those steps before, but just tried again. Still no luck. Matrox does not appear as an option n any sequence settings when I begin a new project (or later), and not in any player settings, though as I had mentioned, it does appear in the drop down Audio Hardware and Mapping, though they were not what was selected.

Did you have other versions of Adobe CS on this OSX installation?
Is Adobe CS5 installed in the default path or had you specified a custom path at installation time?
Please try this:
If Matrox presets are missing:
1. Uninstall the Matrox driver
2. Go to yourusername->library->application support->adobe->Premiere Pro->5.5 and delete the 'Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs' file
3. Restart MAC
4. Reinstall the Matrox driver version 2.2.1.0042 (verify that full file size gets downloaded during download progress)
5. Open Premiere and verify if Matrox presets are present _________________ Regards,

Joe,
Re-installing the driver did the trick!
Thanks.
