Goodmorning!

I have lff clips from p2 cards (panasonic camera), lower fields, 50i (720x576)
I can't find a matrox option which support these. Only upper or progressive. Sad So my sequence has red line.

Thank you!

Hi Yiota,

Can you confirm your MXO2 and Adobe versions?
If you are running Adobe CS6, there are no specific Matrox presets to be able to output through MXO2. You can select any listed preset in Adobe which matches your media such as the Adobe DV-PAL preset available and this will automatically output through MXO2.

Hope this information is helpful.

Unfortunately nothing's changed Sad
I removed Cs6 and MXO LE drivers and patterns and I used Adobe cleaner as you proposed on this topic http://forum.matrox.com/mxo/viewtopic.php?p=33434#33434
Matrox presets are in and everything's fine except lower fields. I can't create a sequence with lower fields for my 720X576 video stuff. If I 'll select progressive I have the red line.
Is it something more I can do?
We capture with lower fields, we create DVDs, so I need lower fields Confused

Hi,

Have you tried creating an DV-PAL preset (standard or widescreen)? This is available in the list of Sequence Presets for Adobe Premiere 6.0.1.
The DV PAL sequence preset is set to Lower Fields First for field dominance properties.

Yeah, I know there is, but if I choose An Adobe's preset with lower fields the editing won't be with matrox.
Neither output because there is no mpeg codec by matrox.

Am I wrong? Rolling Eyes

With Adobe CS6, you will be able to output through any sequence preset. This is made available through Adobe's new transmit architecture in CS6.

However, you will need to set Matrox Player for Video and Audio Device in Premiere's Edit > Preferences > Playback option to output through MXO2.

I read the way for playbacks on other topics and it works fine.
I need to know if I create a sequence, matrox will help me even I'm working with Adobe's presets?
I 'm so sorry for my english Embarassed

New sequence ---->Mpeg I frame (by Matrox)----->Custom---->P2 card

or

New sequence ----->DvcPro50 (by Adobe)----->Custom----->P2 card

On Cs5.5 I was using Matrox DvPAL and it had lower fields. Now I have to select "custom" and not "Matrox Dv pal"
I will working/editing with Matrox if I select Adobe presets or not?

Thank you.

Hi Yiota,

Yes, you will be able to work with all listed presets when using MXO2 in Adobe CS6.

With Adobe CS6, all is handled by Adobe's mercury transmit performance. Here is an interesting Adobe link for additional information: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/cs6-creative-cloud-feature-tour-for-video/get-better-playback-performance-with-mercury-transmit/

With the latest Adobe CS6 MXO2 7.0 drivers, the Matrox Realtime Engine is no longer present. Realtime playback performance of your Adobe Premiere Pro sequences is now determined by Adobe Premiere Pro based on your system's capabilities.

For more information, see page 2 of the MXO2 Release Notes: http://www.matrox.com/video/media/pdf/support/windows/mxo2/doc/en_Matrox_MXO2_Release_Notes_7_0.pdf

Hope this is clear and helpful.

Yes, the links was helpfull, but my problem is still has questions and sorry about that.
I read the page 2 that it had many solutions. Old sequence - no problem, new sequence - use the matrox presets (mpeg I frame, uncompressed 8 or 10). None of ALL has lower fields.

I am creating a new project. Nowhere asking or have a selection of matrox.
I am creating a new sequence. I am selecting Matrox MPEG I-frame, 576p Widescreen. I see upper fields so I'm going to change it. To change it I have to select "Custom" and then P2 DvcPro50.
After these moves/selections, matrox will be there to help me with editing? (I 'm not asking for playback previews on TV)

Thank you for your time and your help.

Hi Yiota,

As mentioned, we do not have DV presets with Lower Fields first. You will need to create an Adobe DV PAL sequence or Custom sequence as you mentioned for your specific footage.

With Adobe CS6, you can create any sequence and as soon as you drop your clip onto the timeline, a message will appear asking if you would like to match your source clip settings or retain your current sequence settings. Therefore, you can choose to switch to a matching preset if ever your current sequence is incorrect.

As with all presets in Premiere, Matrox will simply be available for input and output of your video and audio. You can edit as you normally do, apply Matrox or Adobe effects/transitions, and Matrox will output/export your final preview.

You can select your DV or DVCPRO50 presets and continue your editing with MXO2. With Adobe CS6, please note the Matrox Realtime Engine is no longer present. Realtime playback performance of your Adobe Premiere Pro sequences is now determined by Adobe Premiere Pro based on your system's capabilities.

Hope this information is clear and helpful.

So...I can see my final preview (after rendering) with no realtime engine and without mpeg export. Just for the view....

Thank you for your time and sorry about my difficulty to understand all these because my english and my technical knowledge are poor.

Hi Yiota,

Yes, you can see your final preview and you should be able to export using the list of Adobe and Matrox codecs in Export Settings window.

If you are running with MAX option on your MXO2, you could also export to Matrox H.264 codec for Blu-Ray, the web, and other mobile devices. http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/mxo2_max/encoding/

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
