Hi,
I have a new custom built pc running windows 7 pro 64
Asus p9x79 Pro MOBO
Intel i7 3930k CPU
32 gigs ram
Quadro 4000 Graphics card
Avid Symphony v6.0
Adobe CS6

I have tried Matrox Mtxutils_60 and Mtxutils_61
When I try to launch the Matrox utility so that I can calibrate my HDMI output going to my client monitor the software will not launch. I have had this same box working on a MAC powerbook pro and when I re-install and update the box it works fine. Waht step am I missing??

Thanks
John

Can you check if your "Matrox X.Info" tool is reporting the MXO2 hardware as being connected?

Andrew,

Where do I find the Matrox X.Info, The only programs that appear in the start menu under Matrox are:
Matrox AV Tools
MatroxMAX H264 Capture
Matrox VFW
Matrox WYSIWG (Which when I launch does not appear to do anything)
Uninstall Matrox
Update Matrox

Avid sees the Matrox and a picture is displayed on the client monitor. It just looks very washed out and the Black levels are very high. I am hoping to correct for this in the calibration mode.

Am I supposed to be accessing the matrox through the Avid Hardware tool??

On the MAC there is a box in the Matrox utility that says RGB Callibration.

Where can I find that on the PC??

Hi John,

It's at the right hand side of the Windows task bar, neare where you see the time displayed. It may possibly be in the hidden icons.

Unfortunately, I'm no good with Avid. But we can see if we can get this far, which should see you better placed by the time that the official Matrox support guys are back from the weekend.

Hi John,

It's good to know that there are no issues on the hardware level. I'll leave it to the Avid types at Matrox to take this one further.

I think I figured it out. I did not realize that you had to r-click the Matrox WYSIWG in the hidden icons menu to get to the controls. I thought it would work like the MAC where you double click the program icon and it opens to a control panel window.

Thanks for your help. If you had not pointed me to the hidden icons I would still be struggling.

Thanks Andrew for your help. Great work!

Hi John,

Yes, to access the HDMI Calibration Utility you will need to start the TV WYSIWYG application in order to set the HDMI Calibration to RGB-Calibrated. For more information, this is shown on page 48-50 of the MXO2 User Guide: http://www.matrox.com/video/media/pdf/support/windows/mxo2/doc/en_Matrox_MXO2_Installation_and_User_Guide_6_1.pdf

Please note the MXO2 6.1 drivers only support Adobe CS5.5 (and Avid MC6) however, does not support Adobe CS6. For drivers to use with Adobe CS6, you will need MXO2 7.0.1 latest software.

Hope this information is helpful.

Thanks,
Does this mean if I load the latest MX02 7.0.1 software it will work with both Avid MC6 and Adobe CS6?? Or is it a one or the other scenario?

The latest 7.0.1 software has only been certified and tested with Adobe CS6, and not Avid MC6. The official drivers for Avid MC6 are MXO2 6.1.
If you choose to use the 7.0.1 drivers with Avid MC6, this will be at your own discretion.

We are planning on a unified MXO2 driver for both Adobe and Avid. As soon as we have any further updates, we will inform our users.
