I am having problems while editing which I have not had for awhile. I now have to wait for Premiere Pro to respond before I can do most normal functions, like trim, cut, paste, etc. No crashing, just really sluggish performance. The last time I had these problems was back in the day when I still had Anti-virus software running or backup software monitoring my file changes (for incremental backups). All this has been disabled for a long time. I am looking at my Task Manager and see nothing that could be taking up resources that might slow me down. Everything was working fine a couple of weeks ago until I updated to newer Matrox drivers. I did upgrade to latest NVidia driver, version 296.10 recently as well. Anyone else having sluggish performance? Any ideas as to how to get back to normal?

Hi sbgradin,

Can you confirm the previous version of MXO2 Mini you had installed? Do you recall the firmware version displayed in X-info?
What is the firmware version with the latest 100 drivers?

Did you make sure to power cycle the Mini when installing both driver versions 99 or 100?

Have you tried rolling back to the 99 drivers?
Is there a reason you needed to upgrade to the latest 100 drivers?

Have you tried rolling back the NVIDIA driver to your previous version installed?

Matrox Mini firmware version I presently have is: 0.15.0. EEPROM version is 0.3. I had sluggish performance with 6.0.1.99 Mtx.utils, so that's not it. Perhaps it is the NVidia GeForce drivers. Let me know which version I should roll back to and how to do that. I will give that a try. Funny thing, every now and then Premiere Pro 5.5 acts fine, but 80-90% of the time I have sluggish performance.

What was the previous NVIDIA driver version you had working?

When installing the MXO2 Mini drivers, did you make sure to power cycle the Mini and system?

If you roll back the graphic card drivers, you should:
- uninstall Matrox software
- uninstall current NVIDIA driver
- download and install the previous working NVIDIA driver version
- make sure Adobe apps are updated
- download and reinstall the Mtx.utils 6.1 release

When installing Matrox software, please try the following steps:
- download and right-click the 6.1 Mtx.utils exe file and select Properties. Under the General tab, click unblock (at the bottom) if it is seen.
- Make sure the UAC option is turned off (set to Never Notify in Windows 7 settings) before running the MXO2 setup * may need to reboot
To disable UAC option or set it to Never Notify in Windows 7, please follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975787
- Run Mtx.utils setup and then make sure a full reboot and power cycle is performed (after install is complete, shutdown PC, disconnect MXO2 power for several seconds, reconnect power of MXO2 and then power up the PC)
- re-enable UAC option if needed

Let us know your results.
