Hi,

We are running a Matrox LEMax with Avid 6.0.1. With driver 3.0.0.0071 the system crashed when playing back imported audio (mp3, wav and aif files).

We updated to the BETA 3.1 driver, but found that we cannot playback HD clips without crashes.

We are also unable to capture from DVCam, DVD or VO.

Currently having to run Avid software only...

Thanks,
Anna

Hello Anna,

For Avid 6.0.1 running under Lion 10.7.3, we recommend using the Matrox 3.0.1.0012 software. It is available here: http://forum.matrox.com/mxo/viewtopic.php?t=8049

You should be able to playback your video files with this software.

Regarding playing back audio-only files, we are aware of the crashing issue when trying to scrub the file. (issue reference: vpg-3227) The issue is being investigated by our team of engineers. We hope to have a solution asap.

Note that issue occurs only when using fast-scrub (pressing SHIFT or having CAPS ON while scrubbing the file).

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your reply. However, it weas when we upgraded to 3.0.1.0012 that problems with playing video files started...

Thanks,
Anna

Anna,

So if I understand correctly, you currently cannot playback any HD video footage with your 3.0.1.0012 Matrox software installed?

If so, please uninstall the Matrox software and verify that Avid is able to playback the HD video files natively in the editing windows.

If all works well, then re-download 3.0.1.0012 (verify that the downloaded file size is correct) and re-install. Then test playback/capture.

I thought Matrox version 3.01.0012 software was supposed to fix the audio scrubbing issue and sluggishness with Avid MC 6.01. I have not tried it yet since I also read that it is a "beta" version. Please let me know when you have a final solution to this problem.

Hi Joe,

Yes, that's correct. We can just about play back video but as soon as you pause and replay the system crashes.

Avid is able to playback files when Matrox software is not installed.

I have redownloaded 3.0.1.0012 and reinstalled - still having the same issues.

We have recently upgraded to Avid 6.0.1.1 - does nto seem to have affected problems.

We have an edit starting in two weeks, so need to resolve the issue before then. Perhaps our hardware needs replacing?

Thanks,
Anna

Hi Joe,

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce MHz DDR3 EEC

Driver: 3.0.1.0012

We are running a Quad-Core processor (rather than Dual Quad) - could this be causing the issue?

Thanks,
Anna

I do not suspect a hardware failure at this point.

I don't have any information that would indicate that your processor is the problem as well.

Please try the following uninstall/reinstall procedure:

1. Uninstall current Matrox driver using the Matrox uninstaller application found in Applications->Matrox MXO2 Utilities-> Matrox MAX Software Uninstaller

2. After the system restarts, follow the *** Manual Verification of Uninstall *** procedure listed below.

3. Run a MAC software update making sure all updates are applied (do not update to 10.7.4 just yet)

4. Re-download and install your Matrox driver (verify that downloaded file size is correct)
Download link: http://www.matrox.com/video/en/support/downloads/

Be sure to power cycle the MXO2 unit after the MAC shut downs.

*** Manual Verification of Uninstall ***
