Hi,

When I start video playback, MC 1.6 system will stop with the MX02 mini and I have to close the program.

An error appears:

The only solution I found is to restart "Sytem Tray Application" and "X.info System Tray Application".

My setup: Vista 64-bit, Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 9600M GT, 4GB Ram, 128 GB SSD Crucial M4

Hi,

Can you confirm your MXO2 Mini driver version? Please note Avid MC 6.0.1 is supported by MXO2 Mini 6.0 driver version.
In addition, Windows Vista 64 operating system is not a supported OS version with MXO2 Mini 6.0 driver. The official supported OS versions are: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, or Home Premium (64-bit) with Service Pack 1.

Please also be aware of this Known Issue post: http://forum.matrox.com/mxo/viewtopic.php?t=7209

Let us know your results.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

I have the latest version of Matrox driver (version 6.1 beta).
But it was the same with version 6.

Apparently the problem also happens on windows seven: see the following message found on the Avid website :

"Sometimes, after just have been started up, I can see a hang and freeze if I begin with playing the Sequense the first thing that I do.
If I, however, starts with playing the source viewer for a couple of seconds, all runs well after that.
Mostly I don?t see any hangs at all however.
Mac: 17" Macbook Pro i7 2,66 ghz with 8Gb Ram, 500gb 7200rpm drive___ PC: W 7 Ultimate Mbo gigabyte 965-DQ6,cpu quad core QX 6700, mem 8 GB Corsair... [view my complete system specs] "

What is troubling is that this works sometimes.
Is a problem with the Raid 5 server connected via Ethernet?

"Digidesign DSM Server" keep walking when the software closed.

Is a nvidia driver problem? Open GL ...
Is a problem of Ram or Thread?
Is a problem with ama file ?

I can not find the solution ...

Hi,

Can you post the Avid thread you are referring to?

Can you specify your system specs? Is this a certified Matrox tested system? http://www.matrox.com/video/en/support/windows/mxo2/system/tested_sys/
Are you running the latest drivers and updates for your system?

What are your Windows system sound default settings?

Hi,

You are running an unsupported Windows version with your Avid MC6 and MXO2 drivers. Only Windows 7 64-bit has been certified with MXO2 drivers and Avid MC6.

Thank you for the Avid link. This does not seem to be a Matrox isolated issue. Have you tried the workaround mentioned in one of the Avid posts regarding changing the Video Quality settings in Avid?:
Quote:
-WORKAROUND: right after the project launch, change the video quality button (doesn't matter if you go back to a yellow mode). This will avoid the crash and you can enjoy a fully functional session. If launching in green-green, you don't need the workaround(see above)

Have you tried reinstalling your Avid software? Or performing a fresh install of your OS with a compatible version ie. Windows 7 64-bit edition?

What QT version are you running?

Have you tried un-installing MXO2 drivers and testing Avid MC6.0.1 for same issue?
Would it be possible to test the MXO2 device on a different system using Avid MC6?

Please let us know your results.

Hello,

"You are running an unsupported Windows version with your Avid MC6 and MXO2 drivers"

MX02 mini and MC 6 work separately with my version of windows Vista 64 bits.
- MX02 mini with after effect CS5 64 bits is OK.
- MC 6.01 alone works very well with vista 64 bits

Moreover, the syteme work sometimes !

"WORKAROUND" I tried the different settings available and the sytem work sometimes.

I'have recently reinstalling my OS and my Avid Software.
My QT version is 7.7.1

I think it's "mveServerTrayApp" or "mveXinfo" which are in conflict when MC6 start.

The Vista OS version may work with certain apps, but this is not an officially supported/tested OS configuration using Avid MC 6 / MXO2. Therefore, you may encounter issues while working with unsupported OS configuration.

Have you tried removing MXO2 drivers/hardware? Does the issue still persist?

Please try to confirm your issue still occurs on a supported Matrox certified test system so we can further troubleshoot your issue.

What do you understand by "Have you tried removing MXO2 drivers/hardware" ?

From the control Panel / Device Manager / Matrox Audio Video Device ?

or control Panel / Programs and Features / Matrox Mtx utils ?

or C:\Program Files\Matrox Mtx.utils\drivers ?

In fact, i can't change my configuration that's why i search ? cheap solution.
But in my opinion, the vista 64 bits is not an old system and it looks like windows 7.

Hi,

Have you tried uninstalling the Mtx.utils software through Start Programs, shutting down the system, disconnecting the MXO2 power and trying the Avid playback issue? Does a freeze still occur?

Please note you are not running a certified Matrox tested system including the certified OS version (Windows 7 64-bit) needed for full MXO2 support.

draft and Matrox_Support_Sam,
I have the same problem for long time. I have the Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1 and Avid 6.0.1. My computer has Nvidia Quadro FX 580, Quad Core 2.83 Ghz and 8 GB Ram, 2X640 GB WD Balck HD in Raid 0.
I made a long research about this problem. At first and I was sure there is something wrong with my specs and I almost bought a new computer till I read people all over has the same problem even with new Z800 Avid approved and Avid Nitrix DX hardware.I also had the same problem with my computer and BlackMagic DeckLink HD Extreem 3D card. There is something wrong between the Avid 6 and all the external hardware. Matrox people, please figure this problem with Avid and issue a new drver.
Thanks
Yair

Thanks Yair. Do you have related Avid forum posts with these same issues?
Have you tried upgrading your Avid MC6 to 6.0.1.1?

What version of Mtx.utils are you running? The latest for Avid MC6 is 6.1.0.100.

Have you made sure of the following workaround for this known issue? http://forum.matrox.com/mxo/viewtopic.php?t=7209

Thanks for the update and feedback.

Hi
I'm using the latest Matrox driver 6.1.0.100.
Avid forum :
http://community.avid.com/forums/p/106281/615133.aspx

I checked the issue you sent me, and my configuration is set to the onboard sound playback device as default.

I have the latest Quick Time and WMP drivers.
I just formated my system drive and installed all again. I formated my 2X640GB Black WD and set them again as Raid 0 for video.
As for the 6.0.1.1. I will install it next week. Hope this will fix it...
If you have more info about the "hangs on playback", or a new Matrox Avid driver, please let me know.

Hi Yair,

Thanks for your feedback. This may have been resolved with Avid's latest MC6 update, 6.0.1.1.
Please remove Matrox drivers, update to Avid MC6.0.1.1, reinstall MXO2 drivers and let us know your results.
