My new MX02 Mini has been working with Avid MC 6.0 (after I update the drivers). When powered, there should be a blue light in front, yes? I do not have audio, there is no signal to the client monitor, and the device is not in Device Manager. The power outlet is active. Suggestions? Thanks. David.

Hi David,

Can you confirm your MXO2 driber version?
Are you running a laptop or desktop PC system? What are the system specs? OS etc?

Sam, Thanks for the reply. The driver number is 6.0.0.73. This is a turn key video editing computer (desk top, PC, WIN 7, quad core). I had recently upgraded to Media Composer 6.0 and it worked fine once I changed the driver from 5.1.1.37 (audio out, client monitor). I changed the firewire card in the PC but have not made other changes to the system. The computer does not recognize the MX02 Mini and it seems to be dead (no blue light) though the power outlet is hot. Seems like it could be the DC adapter or the unit itself. Dvid.

Hi,

Can you verify these troubleshooting steps?
Quote:
- Power off both PC and MXO2.

- Remove PCI express/34 card from the PC. Disconnect all cables to the MXO2 and remove host cable on both PC and MXO2.

- Inspect host cable connectors for broken pins. If no defect is visible, re-connect it in the proper orientation but swap the ends. In other words, the connector that was currently connected to the PC should now go connected to the MXO2, and vice versa for the other connector.

-If your cable has 'A' and 'B' labeled on the connector ends, then normally the 'B' side should face upwards. Please verify this on both ends of the host cable connection.

-When inserting the host cable on both the PCI card and MXO2, first pull back the retention screw arms back. This is to ensure that the screws do not inhibit the connector from being inserted fully.

-Once inserted, tighten the retention screws.

-Re-insert PCI express/34 card in the PC.

-Re-connect A/C power to the MXO2 (maybe try a different wall socket/power bar/outlet).

-Power on the PC, verify if the Blue or Red light is ON.

-If the light is ON, you can proceed to download and install the Matrox driver. If the light is still not turning on, then please contact tech support so we can request an RMA or repair.

Please let us know if this helps.

Sam,

No joy. Card and cables seem fine and no change with reinstallation and reversal of cable orientation. The power outlet is hot but there is no blue or red light (I do not remember ever seeing a red light). How do I get a RMA? Thanks. David.

Hi David,

Thanks for your update.

To confirm, is the B side facing up regarding the host cable connections?
Have you tried a different PCIe slot for the Matrox PCIe card?
Have you tried re-connecting A/C power to the MXO2 using a different wall socket/power bar/outlet?
When power cycling the MXO2 Mini unit, did you make sure to shutdown the PC, disconnect the power of MXO2 Mini, wait several seconds, reconnect MXO2 power, and restart the system? This is essential after performing firmware changes to the MXO2 Mini.

If possible, do you have another PC system to test the MXO2 Mini unit?

Sam,

Yes - B side facing up at both ends.
There are no free PCIe slots; I just reseated.
Yes - I tried a different power outlet.
Yes - I shut down PC and Matrox (removed power cord from back for several seconds). I've not tried to update the firmware.
No - I do not have another system to try the unit.

What does it take to get a blue or red light from the front of the unit?

I called Matrox earlier today to start the return process.
