Hello!
I gave a look at this forum but I didn't find an answer to my doubts, so I decided to post this topic.
I'd like to buy a mx02 mini to capture from game consoles.
I'd only like to know if I can capture the video of a videogame with a frame rate of 30 fps (I checked the data and it seems to have this frame rate) outputted at 1080p?
Thank You |

Hello and thank you for your interest in Matrox products. Regarding your question; you can use the MXO2 Mini to capture your game play. Please note however that High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) sources and SD video are not supported on the HDMI input (P.S.: with the XBOX 360, you can capture via HDMI).
Could you please elaborate on your full workflow (what is the game council you are using - Are you using a Mac or PC) in order to better understand your needs and offer our recommendations...
Best regards,

Thank You for your reply. I heard about the HDCP inhibition but luckly as you noted the Xbox games should allow capture via HDMI.
I'll be use the matrox mini on PC, I'll buy the express card version, and I plan to record gameplay of games with a frame rate of 30 fps.
I'd really like to keep the 1080p setting of my xbox but if I can't capture in that format I will use the 1080i.
So summarizing the workflow:
I plan to use the matrox mini, PC; express card version, to capture via HDMI XBOX 360 gameplay. Most of the games I plan to capture have a frame rate of 30 fps (just to quote few of them: Mass Effect 2 and Halo 3).
I'd like to know if the mini will accept the input in 1080p from games with this fram rate or if I should select 1080i.
Thank you for your courtesy. |
