| Just wondering if MX02 win7 drivers for CS5 will ship when CS5 actually ships at the end of April? - Also any word on or a supporting Cineform's First Light application or a WYSIWYG driver? |

|
I just bought (but not yet received) the mxo2 mini w/max desktop version. However I just read from this poste that cineform neoscene is not yet working closely with mxo2.
Can therefore anyone tell me how I can use my mxo2 with neoscene as I would like to mount video using avchd clips. My idea was to acquire avchd directly to avchd format with mxo2.
Thanks in advance for your reply.

| Me too - such a great product but so limited. If Cineform products worked with Matrox products both would really benefit. |

| Thanks for the reply. Cineform from my understanding are waiting on Matrox to release an API for 3rd party intergration. For now I think I will need to go with an AJA solution, but as I mentioned in the last post many cineform users that are looking for an inexpensive broadcast quality monitoring solution would find the MX02 a great addition especially for remote / portable work. - thanks again. |

Hello,
Sorry for the delay in response.
Our support for Cineform is limited to dropping Cineform clips in a Matrox sequence and having it play back on the output. Any Cineform tools will not directly drive the output as we do not have WYSIWYG drivers for tools such as CFL.
Onto your questions;
1) Will MX02 mini work with cineforms First Light?
See response above.
2) Will a 720p HDTV display 1366x720 native res be an issue?
It should not be as we put out a standard HD signal, most standard HDTV compliant monitors will scale to their native resolution.
3) In CS4 will MX02 support playback of Cineform prospect HD files either from within it's own preset or cineforms.
Same response as #1.
4) If your API is not open to cineform, when will this be added?
This has been suggested by many, we are in talks with Cineform, may I recommend you make the same request to them.
5) How soon will CS5 drivers be offered after it's release?
We cannot confirm nor deny the existence of a CS5, however we are close Adobe partners, and we do plan to support whatever version of CS they will be developing for the foreseeable future. |

Thanks Andy, from Matrox's silence, I can only determine they don't want to publicly answer this, but there is bunch of Cineform users that would jump on this product if cineform were able to access thier API. My understanding is they currently allow Cineform playback from within thier presets within premier pro. But not the other way round, and I would prefer to use the cineform codec and editing mode.
2. Which 720p HDTV? Are you asking if the MXO2 can display a 1366x720 to a 720p TV (1280x720) without distortion?
Yes, it's a Panasonic HDTV 720P, my workflow is in 720p (60fps) - do Matrox offer a template for this?
3. According to the doc linked above: "... users can now drop their CineForm content on a CS4 timeline using a Matrox project preset and enjoy realtime playout through MXO2 to their preferred monitor or television.?
Right, this is correct but will it output from cineform's First Light?
I hope Matrox will answer these questions soon. I know the AJA solutions work with Cineform, but these are lacking some of the broadcast monitor / color solution offered by matrox
thanks,
Rich |

Hey Rich
Until you get an official response:
1. Don't know. Ha, not a good start eh? This may or may not be helpful info tho:
http://www.cineform.com/pdfs/Press%20Release%20090629%20MXO2%20Mini%20FINAL.pdf
2. Which 720p HDTV? Are you asking if the MXO2 can display a 1366x720 to a 720p TV (1280x720) without distortion?
3. According to the doc linked above: "... users can now drop their CineForm content on a CS4 timeline using a Matrox project preset and enjoy realtime playout through MXO2 to their preferred monitor or television.?
4. Again as per the info above, it would seem that Cineform have already been working with Matrox on product compatibility ...
5. I wouldn't know, but it seems a tad early for any such an announcement.
Hopefully a Matrox rep will drop by or call with a more helpful response soon.
Best
Andy |

| Can someone from Matrox try and answer these questions, would we better off going with AJA IO Express? I also sent an email to your support group with no feedback yet. Thanks |
