Hi,
Yes, this is correct. The latest version of the new VFW codecs is VFWCodecs_10.exe and the file build version is 1.0.0.28.
The legacy VFW codecs build version is 52. You can differentiate between the two softwares by these build versions.
Hope this helps.
Regards,

"You can differentiate between the two softwares by these build versions."
And also by the word, Legacy! |

Thank you all.
I was confused with so many 1.0 versions and never thought that Matrox a) would differentiate between major versions with only build numbers AND b) the later released version of the software has a SMALLER build number!
As I said earlier, someone needs re-take 'version numbering 101'.

This will enable any Axio user to upgrade to CS5 w/o Matrox hardware and software and use Matrox avi's that were produced from footage digitized with Matrox Axio. I have years worth of Matrox Axio projects. Thanks to this new utility, I can now upgrade to CS5 even though I can't use the Matrox Axio but at least I don't have to re-digitize all of the plethora of clips I've accumulated over the years... This is exactly what I (and probably most of us) have been waiting for. Matrox also released this utility to stop all the whining about when Axio drivers will be available for CS5. (Of course that's just a theory!) |
Neither version of the Matrox VFW codecs work for me. After the install, I reboot and try to import old clips into a new or existing CS5 project. I can select and import old (c24/axio avi) clips but they render as Solid Pink color with garbled (at points clear and then sometimes not ) Audio. Anyone else experience this or have a workaround? I'm waiting on ordering an MX02 system to replace my old AXIO.
It's interesting to note that the files will play ok using Windows Media Player. |
